Lullabies For My Daughter

In awareness of the needs of these changing times and new demands on parents DreamyKid introduced the “Sound Healing” category last month. It was so well received that we decided to add lullabies to our “Sleep sounds Library.” Enter San Francisco’s Jazz Diva, Kim Nalley and our first lullaby, “So this is Love” from her newly released album, “Lullabies for my Daughters.” And yes, it is literally that, songs she’s recorded while on tour for her husband to play at bedtime to her very own daughters Lydia (8 yrs) and Kalley (4yrs) to lull them to sleep.

Our featured song “So This is Love,” recorded for Lydia, Kim’s eldest, because a dear friend told her while she was pregnant to get prepared to fall in love all over again. This influence and maternal intention is captured through the love in her voice, a voice that San Francisco’s Classical Voice Review described as, “magisterial and generous.” This dreamy song shines through, warmly inviting your child into their own loving heart space. Kim’s talents coupled with soothing lyrics like, “My heart has wings and I can fly, I’ll touch every star in the sky,” makes for a beautiful and intentional lullaby to satisfy listeners of all ages. We invite you to enjoy this song and our sound healing / sleep sounds in your nightly or daily routine.

Kim Nalley is a famous San Francisco jazz vocalist awarded “Most Influential African American in the Bay Area” in 2005 and “Best Jazz Group” in 2013. Kim has graced stages from Moscow to Lincoln Center.
